Would you like to help make the Prairie Food Co-op a reality?  If so, please consider making a donation to support our organizing and marketing efforts.  ANY dollar amount is welcome.  All donations will fund our initial organizing costs, and also help fund the cost of expert food co-op advice and services, including a market study and feasibility assessment.  A market study and feasibility assessment are needed to determine the potential for a cooperative grocery store as well as secure capital for start-up and operations.  Read more >

There are TWO WAYS TO DONATE–by mail or online. We admit we like the BY MAIL option best because we get 100% of those donations–while a fee is deducted from online contributions. However, please use whatever method works best for you!

DONATE BY MAIL: Mail your donation to the following address. Make checks payable to “Prairie Food Co-op”

Prairie Food Co-op
PO Box 83
Lombard, IL 60148

DONATE ONLINE: You can use our “Pay Pal” account to donate by clicking the “Donate” button below.

Please note that your contribution is not tax-deductible.

To thank you for your contribution at such an early stage, we have teamed up with a group of merchants and other supporters who have graciously offered rewards.  In return for your contribution at the following levels, you will be thanked with one or more rewards as indicated below!  Rewards will be distributed in February, 2014 to allow time for all who wish to participate in our donation rewards program opportunity to do so.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!

Your Contribution
How will your money be spent? Well, first you’ll be investing in an organization committed to bringing local, sustainable, high quality food to our community, as well as offering educational programs AND a fantastic program to make high quality food accessible to those in economic need.  In order to make this a reality, we need to continue our marketing activities and eventually conduct a professional market analysis and feasibility study.  Here is a break-down of initial organizing costs – as you can see, there are many costs to cover.  We are raising additional funds thru various community events and workshops.  And, soon, we will be offering ownership shares for you to purchase, which will ultimately allow us to open the store!

  1. $12,000 – Professional market analysis and feasibility study
  2. $5,500 – Financial Pro Forma (tells us how much earnings potential the store should have)
  3. $5,000 – Other (marketing, professional consulting, training, etc)

Rewards

Rewards will be distributed as funds are raised – please allow us a few weeks to process your payment.  The raffle prizes will be distributed in March 2014, so be sure to make your donation before March 1, 2014!
