Local Meat Producers

All meat producers listed below are family-owned farms that use sustainable farming practices.  All raise their animals in cruelty-free, ethical manners and do not give hormones or antibiotics to their animals.  Or, as one farmer put it, “if an animal gets sick, we will treat it with antibiotics to preserve it’s health and well-being.  But, we tag the animal and it goes to Purdue.”

Arnolds Farm

A farm located in Elizabeth, IL that produces pigs, beef, chicken, lamb, and turkey.  Hormone and antibiotic free, and pasture raised.  Freezer Meat available, and delivery to various Chicagoland Farmers Markets, including Villa Park.  If you sign-up for their Newsletter, you’ll receive information on sales and can pre-order meat at a discount price (to be picked up at area Farmers Market).

Caveny Farm

Located in Monticello, IL, this farm raises heritage breed turkey, Rouen duck, and geese, available for Thanksgiving and Christmas with delivery to several Chicagoland locations.

Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm

A family farm located in Ottowa, IL that raises pigs, cattle, and chicken.  Hormone and antibiotic free, pasture raised animals.  Monthly Meat CSA and Freezer Meat available.

Walnut Acres Farm

This family farm, located in Walnut, IL, raises chicken, pigs, beef, and turkey.  Hormone and antibiotic free, and pasture raised.  Monthly Meat CSA and Freezer Meat available.
