The Legal & Incorporation committee is responsible for working with an attorney to file articles of incorporation, draft by-laws, and assist in seating the co-op’s first Board of Directors. This task group will also research and make recommendations on insurance coverage for the co-op.

- Consider need for attorney to assist with incorporation process (see p. 28 of Legal Primer, which states the following: “Incorporation is a simple process in most states and the filing usually costs less than $200. The filing can occur without legal advice.”
- File articles of incorporation and seat founding board
- Research and provide recommendations to Steering Committee or Board regarding insurance coverage for board members and other volunteers
